On December 22, 2019, an oncoming vehicle crossed the center double yellow line of the road and crashed into Plaintiff’s, Melissa Van Orden, vehicle, head-on. Liability was not disputed. As a result of the accident, Ms. Van Orden suffered multiple fractures to both legs and her right arm. Ms. Van Orden uses a walker to move around, although with discomfort. Ms. Van Orden has undergone at least 14 surgical procedures. This incident was the third time Defendant driver was charged with careless driving. The case settled for $1.49 million.
